A fun little piece from January 2010. We had one of the coldest spells of winter weather for over 30 years in Ireland, so lugging a snowboard into the mountains was in order, if nothing else, just for the novelty value. This was shot on Slieve Carr in the Nephin Beg range of County Mayo, one of the most remote summits in Ireland. The snow was powdery above 500m, giving a vertical descent of approx 200m. Footage was shot on Canon 5D mk II and Canon G10. This was my first day out trying the video capabilities of the 5D, and in fact my second day shooting video of any description. A Go Pro would have been great for the handheld boarding shots.
