Mullangore Woods, Donegal
This picture was taken in Glenveagh National Park on an overcast November day. Many of the valley's trees were in autumnal colour and heavy rain the previous day meant the rivers were full of water. At Mullangore, where valuable remnants of Ireland's original woodlands are protected, a stream ran swiftly beneath the boughs of mature beech trees. The overcast sky ensured a soft, even light, and a long exposure gave the water a silky blur.
