Mesa Arch, Utah, USA

Mesa Arch in Canyonlands National Park combines a dramatic rock sculpture with a spectacular natural light show. During the summer months, dawn light hits the sheer cliff below the formation and then rebounds upwards, illuminating the underside of the arch with a rich orange glow. After a 3am start, it took a determined effort to concentrate on taking photographs and not let myself become distracted by the beauty of the scene in front of me.
