Fanad Head Lighthouse, Donegal
This shot was taken during a massive north swell. The waves were crashing high onto the rocks at the base of the lighthouse, and low cloud created a uniform backdrop for the scene. A minute-long exposure allowed the intermittent light from the beacon to register on film and the waves to blend into a ghostly blur. Besides taking the shot, my main concern was to protect the lens from the rain and pounding surf.
