Lago Pehoe, Patagonia
This view of the Cuernos del Paine rising above Lago Pehoe has become one of the most famous landscapes of Patagonia. The great Southern Patagonian Ice Field lies just a few kilometres away, and this entire scene - from the turquoise water to the curiously angular turrets of rock - owes its form to the sculpting forces of glaciation. After a night of hammering rain, I was lucky to catch this brief dawn clearance before the clouds began to gather again.
