Classie Bawn Castle, Sligo
Classie Bawn Castle is an imposing estate house built in 1856. It sits on a rise overlooking Donegal Bay and is a landmark of north Sligo. I took this shot from the shore near Mullaghmore Head. The headland is famous for its big waves, so I had to wait for calm conditions to get down onto this storm beach. The wet boulders glistened in the soft evening light, and a wide-angle lens allowed me to include the rocks beneath my feet as well as the distant castle.
