Cuillin Ridge, Scotland
The Black Cuillin on the Isle of Skye is celebrated as the most formidable mountain range in Britain. As well as being visually impressive, these peaks are also the most technically challenging from a mountaineering perspective. The main ridge extends for over 12km, and is often as sharp as a knife edge. I took this image at sunset from the 958m-high summit of Bruach na Frithe, a superb vantage point for the natural architecture of the range.
