Annapurna Sunset, Nepal Himalaya
At 8091m, Annapurna is the world's tenth-highest mountain. The peak holds almost legendary status amongst mountaineers; by 2007, 38% of those attempting to reach the summit had perished during the ascent, making it the most dangerous mountain in the world to climb. Here the mountain's awesome south face is at its most beautiful, with the rock and snow fields glowing warmly beneath a fiery sunset.
